Once you make this Gluten-Free Homemade Teriyaki Sauce, you might never want to buy the store-bought kind again! It’s sweet, savory, a little tangy, and packed with delicious flavor. Made with pineapple juice, coconut aminos, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and a pinch of red pepper flakes, this simple sauce comes together in just minutes with ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.

The pineapple juice adds a natural sweetness and a little tropical flavor, while the garlic and ginger give the sauce that classic teriyaki taste. A touch of cornstarch helps thicken everything into a glossy sauce that’s perfect for drizzling over rice bowls, tossing with chicken or beef, or adding to your favorite stir-fry.

Best of all, this homemade teriyaki sauce is gluten-free and dairy-free, and you can easily make it with coconut aminos or gluten-free soy sauce. It’s an easy recipe to keep on hand for quick weeknight dinners!

What Makes This Teriyaki Sauce So Good?

The secret to this sauce is the combination of pineapple juice and coconut aminos. Pineapple juice gives the sauce a fruity sweetness that pairs beautifully with the savory garlic and ginger. Coconut aminos add a rich, savory flavor, while brown sugar helps create that classic sweet teriyaki taste. It’s simple, flavorful, and so easy to make at home!

Coconut Aminos vs. Gluten-Free Soy Sauce

Both options work well in this recipe, but there are a few differences.

  • Coconut aminos: Generally sweeter and milder, with less sodium than traditional soy sauce.
  • Gluten-free soy sauce: Typically saltier and has a deeper, more traditional soy sauce flavor.

I love using coconut aminos for a slightly sweeter sauce, but gluten-free soy sauce is a great option if you prefer a more savory flavor. Also, if you don’t have a gluten allergy, you can easily use regular soy sauce instead.
