Meet Kori’s Chai Smoothie! My daughter LOVES making smoothies for breakfast, and she came up with this yummy, fall-inspired creation that has quickly become a favorite in our house. It’s creamy, naturally sweet, packed with nutrients, and tastes almost like a chocolate milkshake, but with a cozy chai twist! The bananas, dates, cacao powder, and warm chai spices make this smoothie the perfect combination of chocolatey, sweet, and spicy. The best part? It’s completely plant-based, making it a delicious breakfast or snack that everyone can enjoy.

I love watching my kids get creative in the kitchen, especially when they come up with something this delicious! If you’re looking for an easy breakfast that feels like a treat but is made with nourishing ingredients, you have to try Kori’s Chai Smoothie.
What Makes This Chai Smoothie So Good?
The secret to this smoothie is the combination of chocolate, banana, dates, and chai spices.
The banana makes it creamy and thick, while the dates add a natural caramel-like sweetness. Cacao powder gives it that rich chocolate flavor that makes it taste like a milkshake, and the chai spices add a warm, cozy flavor that makes it perfect for fall.
It’s sweet, creamy, and full of flavor without needing dairy or a bunch of added sugar. And honestly, any breakfast that tastes like a chocolate milkshake while giving you a reason to feel good about starting the day is a win in my book!
Easy Ways to Customize Your Smoothie
One of the best things about smoothies is how easy they are to customize! Here are a few ways that we like to switch this smoothie up, especially if we want more protein:
- Add nut butter: A spoonful of almond or peanut butter adds richness and flavor.
- Add protein: Blend in your favorite plant-based protein powder for a more filling breakfast. Need protein powder or dairy-free protein powder? This is our favorite CLEAN protein powder by Just Ingredients! Use code: NICOLEROSS for 10% off! If you need dairy-free, search for the Vegan!
- Make it extra chocolatey: Add a few dairy-free chocolate chips or a little extra cacao powder.
- Add extra spice: Increase the cinnamon, ginger, or cardamom for a stronger chai flavor.
