If you’re looking for a drink that tastes like a tropical getaway, this Iced Aloha Matcha Latte is definitely it. It's a delicious Japanese-inspired drink with a Hawaiian twist that gives you gentle energy throughout the day and tastes WAY better than any coffee shop version. Plus, it comes together in just a few minutes and naturally dairy-free.

  • While your water heats up. Grab a 16oz mason jar, pour the syrups in and top with ice cubes. Then, add your water.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together matcha powder and hot water using a matcha whisk or milk frother, until no lumps remain (if you don't have either of these, blend matcha and hot water in a blender).
  • Pour matcha over the glass of ice. Top up with coconut milk, mix and enjoy!

Notes

Matcha powder - Use high-quality matcha powder. Go for ceremonial grade matcha that's bright green - dull green likely won't taste very good. This is our favorite matcha powder!
Ice - If you are a slow matcha drinker, then I suggest small ice cubes so you don't get huge amounts of water in your latte when they melt. I drink mine pretty quickly, so I just use our fridge ice cubes and it doesn't change the flavor much as they melt.
Milk - For this particular matcha recipe, I prefer unsweetened coconut milk making it more of the "Aloha Matcha". However, any type of dairy-free milk works. If you don't have a dairy allergy, you can use regular milk too. 
Sweetener - The coconut and macadamia nut syrups by Monin make this the heavenly drink it is. You can swap them out for any sweetener if needed. Maple syrup, coconut sugar, simple syrup, agave or sugar will work fine. Use as much or as little as you like.
Don't use boiling water to whisk - Use just-boiled but not boiling, as you can burn the matcha if the water is too hot.
